Between the Lines

Raise the Barre Presents

“Live the story you want, if it's not the story you're in.”

May 30 – June 13, 2026

About the Show

Based on the bestselling novel by Jodi Picoult and Samantha van Leer, Between the Lines follows Delilah, a teenage girl navigating an estranged dad, her seemingly absent mom, and relentless high school bullies. Her life seems unbearable until she discovers a fairytale and handsome Prince Oliver, who begins to speak to her from the pages.

A coming-of-age story with a luminous central theme: "Live the story you want, if it's not the story you're in."

With music and lyrics by Elyssa Samsel and Kate Anderson (the team behind the Central Park animated series) and a book by Timothy Allen McDonald and Jodi Picoult, this enchanting yet relatable story is loaded with fun musical numbers and heart.

Raise the Barre has been inspiring, training, and supporting artists since 2010. Did you know it all started with a dream to give homeschoolers access to a performing arts education? Over a decade later, that dream is very much alive on this stage, as more than 88% of the artists creating this production were homeschoolers themselves! Our show today is our way of honoring the community that believed in us from the very beginning, including the families, the students, and the supporters who helped make Raise the Barre what it is today.

Please note: This performance is rated PG-13. Parental guidance is suggested for younger audience members.
